The desk exists because the same word — research peptide — gets applied to compounds at radically different stages of evidence, and that conflation is everywhere online. The goal is to make the distinctions visible, in plain language, with citations at every step. Every page names the species and sample size behind findings. Every page says plainly when evidence is thin, preliminary, or sourced from a single research group.

Editorial method
Literature selection prioritizes peer-reviewed human trials from indexed journals, followed by authoritative systematic reviews and meta-analyses, followed by well-characterized animal studies for compounds where human data are thin. Every citation is linked directly to PubMed or the original source so readers can check primary material.
For the approved compounds (semaglutide, tirzepatide, tesamorelin), the primary sources are the pivotal trial publications and FDA-label materials. For the investigational compound (retatrutide), sources are Phase 2 trial publications and structural-biology papers. For BPC-157, sources are the available pharmacokinetic work, mechanistic studies, and the 2025 narrative review that synthesized the human evidence.
Factual disagreements between studies are named rather than papered over. Species boundaries are maintained: rodent findings are reported as rodent findings. Sample sizes are visible. Contested or mechanistically-only conclusions are labeled as such. The desk has no position on whether any compound is worth pursuing — that is a clinical and regulatory question, not an editorial one.
